The development and progression of cancer involves complex interplay between the tumour itself and numerous other cell types and physiological processes. Thus, to study the mechanisms of malignancy in a way that is meaningful requires sophisticated in vivo models. This meeting will focus on the latest developments in the generation of animal models of cancer, and will put particular emphasis on how diverse aspects of the human disease may be faithfully recapitulated in the laboratory. We will discuss how these approaches have enabled us to assemble a whole-body view of cancer initiation and the processes that lead to the dissemination and spread of metastases.
Here are four reasons (Networking and developing new partnerships, Continuing education and skill development, Learning and sharing best practices and Advancement of the profession) why it is important for you to attend our World Cancer Conference.
A special invitation is extended to international colleagues to attend and contribute to the conference. Mark your calendars now and for more details please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org

Hormone therapy has long been the center of care for prostate cancer and helps many men diagnosed with the disease live longer. Such treatments reduce or block the production of androgens, the male sex hormones that help prostate cells grow and function, but which also fuel cancer cell growth.
Estrogen is an important female hormone that signals the breasts to form during puberty. It's a necessity for normal mammary gland development. Yet, in some cases, the hormone also helps abnormal breast cells to grow, giving rise to the most common subtype of breast cancer, called estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) disease.
Colorectal cancer incidence and death rates in the United States have declined significantly in recent decades. But not every part of the country has benefitted equally.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) last week released draft recommendations around the use of aspirin to help prevent disease, including both cardiovascular disease (heart attacks and strokes) and colorectal cancer. The inclusion of colorectal cancer as part of these guidelines is a first.
